Services
After more than 15 years leading cross functional teams and programs within independent agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and design consultancies, I can wear many hats and quickly add value because of my diverse background.
-
Catalyze creative teams and optimize their delivery by designing and implementing meaningful team structure, process and tools, and hiring and onboarding the right staff. Balance the bottom line and business objectives while remaining a champion for the creative work.
-
Set the strategy and maintain an organization-wide view while serving as the communication hub and heartbeat for multiple individual projects. Manage wide-reaching goals, individual resources, and cross-functional budgets simultaneously.
-
Design people-first programs across talent acquisition, organization design, human development and wellness, executive coaching, and change management, all in service of increasing engagement and creating the best teams.
Keys to Every Success
-
Inclusive Collaboration
Co-creation with a diverse team promises adoption! Bring the team along and co-own the outcome. Shared success feels better.
-
Influence Stakeholders
Understand what each function needs to learn and hear. Identify their objectives and pain points to align cross-functional decisions.
-
Be an Energy Giver
Relationships are everything. Our teammates and partners deserve kindness, smarts and positivity. Be a "hype human”. It feels good.
-
Everyone is Your Customer
It doesn’t matter where they fall on the org chart, everyone deserves communication, commitment and care.
-
Design the Program
Third act problems are first act problems; make and protect the time needed to set the project’s foundation and THEN get started.
-
Get a Good Night's Sleep
Everything is at least 60% better and clearer after a good night’s sleep. Take care of yourself.
-
Tease Apart and Then Stitch
Observe. Understand the facts. Then, gather insights, identify the opportunities, and stitch together a plan. Be the “how” to the “what”.
-
Team-Right Process and Tools
Process for process sake falls flat. Understand where the snags are before throwing it out or starting all over.
-
Embrace Ambiguity and Iterate
Life isn’t clean and tidy, and neither is our work. Be flexible and patient. Trust your gut, adjust and go!
Just a Few Work Examples
It all starts with a brief….sometimes.
-
The initial brief: Assess how Global Brand Design operates to maximize utilization and drive efficiency.
Outcome: What initially began as a stretch assignment turned into a new role. I designed, roadmapped, recruited, hired, onboarded, grew and developed Nike Global Brand Design’s first imbedded 21-person Creative Operations team. I wrote job descriptions and coached the team to serve as strategic partners to Marketing and Design equally. I “worked the matrix" to collaborate, influence and negotiate with dozens of cross-functional partners to secure funding and unleash a studio comprised of 100+ designers, freelancers, vendors and agencies across ten sport categories and three centers of excellence. I served as the imbedded HR conduit, commonly counseling and supporting teams through ambiguity and frequent reorganizations. I continually fortified a world-class design team by creating an environment that is a hot-bed for compelling storytelling and design. I implemented Global Brand Design’s first workload metrics tracking tool and Nike’s first freelance compensation parity study.
-
The initial brief: Get new Product Designers and Researchers up to speed faster.
Outcome: Although Sprinklr onboarding is quite robust and well-organized, new Product Design and Research employees did not receive a proper introduction to Sprinklr’s Design system, internal communication and review tools, and methodologies that drive our culture. I strategized and proposed a Design-specific onboarding experience that received VP approval. After leading ideation sessions with Design Managers and the Director of UX Research, and hosting listening sessions with current employees, I created the onboarding framework and then partnered with cross-functional teams to execute the roll out campaign. The onboarding experience received C-suite attention, and has become a standard of excellence for additional teams throughout Sprinklr. I now consult with leaders across the company to create unique onboarding experiences. I am currently leading a program with Sprinklr Academy to create digital training tools to ensure our teammates feel confident in their roles as soon as possible.
-
The initial brief: Serve as a member of the cross functional Senior Leadership Team, and build a bench of world class external talent.
Outcome: As Grow’s first Brand Studio Director, I served as the single point of contact for Marketing across all creative projects, and built a bench of external talent, including Strategists, Designers, and Copywriters. I determined program approach and built out the bespoke teams required to execute every project. I was responsible for ensuring projects were staffed with talent who delivered their best work on time and on budget. I strategically partnered with the head of marketing, and the directors of production and operations to lead the agency to its most successful year in its 20 year history. I rolled out Grow’s response to AB 5, and ensured legal and financial compliance. I designed, iterated and implemented new best practices for briefing, RFP creation, and workback schedule rigor with the motto “slow down to speed up.” I led the strategic and creative effort to re-position the agency in response to COVID-19.
-
The initial brief: Turn a team of Allstars into an Allstar team, and improve the Employee Net Promoter Score (ENPS).
Outcome: I joined a newly-formed global, cross functional Marketing, Design and Development Innovation team to observe blind spots and gaps, and identify ways the team could increase their ENPS. Over the course of my time with the team, I conducted insight-driven 1:1 conversations and workshops to identify latent needs, designed quarterly engagement surveys to solicit feedback and generate ideas, and analyzed the team’s complex blend of cultures and often conflicting gaps across 3 global offices. I delivered purpose-driven and attainable near, mid and long-term recommendations for how the team could most effectively evolve behaviors, and defined and established a shared culture and community. I built collectives of likeminded individuals to help drive the changes and programs across functions. The ENPS score increased, and the outcomes of my work live on in the team’s daily processes and behaviors.

What People Are Saying
“Amanda is a dream to work with and encapsulates all of the ingredients you look for in a successful leader. She is punctual, nurturing, diplomatic, strong, honest, and goes above and beyond to strive for excellence. I've always been impressed by her ability to treat everyone, no matter what discipline or title, with equal respect and fairness. Her positivity is infectious and her razor focus impressive. Amanda’s primary goal is always to help others succeed. While working as a creative lead on multiple F500 brand projects together, she always provided me with an extremely thorough brief, understood and respected timelines, and was willing to jump in at any hour of the day to see the work through. Amanda is the missing key to a happy, proficient and successful internal culture and staff.”
— Whitney Houser | Designer & Producer
“I have had the pleasure of working with Amanda for over a year now and can’t remember not having her on the team. She is an integral part of my professional life as a mentor and soundboard, as well as a critical component of the success of our Design team. As a Program Manager, Amanda is a master of organization and communication. She wears multiple hats by supporting greater Design and Product initiatives, as well as lending her talents to help operationalize and champion user research within the design process. Her knack for forming relationships and connecting stakeholders continues to help unlock massive opportunities for the User Research team. As a leader, Amanda embodies empathy and kindness, which she demonstrates in all situations, no matter how big or small. Amanda is a joy to work with, and I hope to partner with and learn from her for many years to come.”
— Grace Brinkley | Director, UX Research
“Amanda is a breath of fresh air. Fresh, direct, kind, organized and brilliant fresh air. She worked with our management team on a leadership initiative. It always seems challenging to be the external consultant and keeping the team on track, but Amanda had it dialed. She managed her deliverables and expectations and kept the project moving forward. She is someone you want to be your best around and someone I'd love to work with in any capacity.”
— Meg Bilanzich | Chief People Office
“I had the distinct pleasure of working under the leadership of Amanda to help build a robust Creative Studio Operations team in support of Global Brand Design at Nike. Passion for her team, and infectious enthusiasm for building a positive future together made for a positive work environment. She has an innate knack for bringing out the best in her team, and empowering everyone to work from their strengths. Her forward thinking and ability to clearly communicate that is exceptional. I would jump at an opportunity to work with her again.”
— Denise Wild | COO
“Amanda is one of the rare ones. She finds a nice balance of empathy and tough love, and is the first to hop at an opportunity to go outside of her job description and help enrich the lives of others. One of my favorite projects we did together was creating a dinner series to connect designers at Nike with each other and a local creative, which we both did on our own time. Her energy is infectious, and she has a heart of pure gold.”
— David Brady | Creative Director and Founder
“Amanda is a thoughtful, compassionate, and driven partner who had a huge impact on our team culture during her time at adidas. She was brought in to our newly formed team to look at our blind spots and ways we could accelerate our internal team score ratings. Over the course of her time she globally held insightful workshops to identify challenges, surveys to solicit feedback, analyzed our complex blend of cultures in 3 global offices, and made purpose driven but attainable suggestions on how we could most effectively evolve our behaviors and culture. After her proposal she built collectives of likeminded individuals to help drive these changes so that the culture was driven through the org, and not just top down. We greatly miss her on the team, but the results of her work live on in our daily working lives. I would suggest Amanda for any opportunity that needs a driven, compassionate, intelligent, articulate, and impactful leader.”
— Josh Herr | Creative Director
“Amanda brought a ton of positivity and improvement to the culture and community aspects of our team. She formed a Culture squad in the team, and proactively worked with SLT, ELT to upkeep the health and culture of the team. Amanda's communication skills, humble confidence, and people skills make her a great leader and teammate.”
— Abinand Manorama | Senior Innovation Manager
